Classic Studio Vibes

Les Paul’s namesake guitar is truly the quintessential electric rock guitar. It has been the guitar of choice for so many artists that it is impossible to name them all! Les Paul was a true innovator in the industry, pioneering multi-track recording, all kinds of effects, and just being an all around great performer. So it’s no wonder the guitar named for him has such a versatile sound, seeing use in all kinds of music, from rock to RnB, country to jazz, and just about everything in between.

The studio model of the guitar is meant to be heard and not necessarily seen, lacking the pazzazz of some other models, but maintaining the same iconic sound. The 1994 Studio model we recorded uses the 490T/R pickups, with a heavy mid-range sound that cuts through the mix. The sound of these pickups is very versatile, and sounds great in jazz, blues, rock, and many other genres. And importantly for Soundpaint, they also work great with post-processing effects, so we can really get creative and make all kinds of new sounds!
